Support CAAAV Voice's organizing to reclaim New York City for working class people!

CAAAV Voice, the c4 arm of CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities, works to shift the relationship between organized working class communities and elected officials. CAAAV Voice is clear that movements decide and win demands, NOT electeds, and that we need more c4 organizations representing the grassroots contesting for power.

CAAAV Voice develops the leadership of working class Asian immigrants to make a significant intervention in the gentrification of NYC by building neighborhood power in Chinatown and Queens. Chinatown and Queens are neighborhoods where Asian immigrants are the fastest growing driving force of the working class, and could potentially shift the long-term political landscape of the city. Our strategy is to build neighborhood power to (1) defend our neighborhoods by fighting against luxury development; (2) fight for more housing for the working class in these neighborhoods; and (3) build enough power to constrict our opposition, the real estate industry.

As CAAAV Voice fights for rent control, we have identified the 2025 NYC mayoral election as the a key short-term campaign intervention point. The mayor has the power to freeze rents for the 50% of city units that are rent-stabilized, impacting millions of tenants. We are organizing to make rent freeze an electability issue, and elect a mayor who represents the interests of the working class rather than real estate. To make the most of this opportunity, CAAAV Voice is organizing in Asian working class immigrant neighborhoods to build power and escalate our call for a rent freeze.

As working class Asian immigrants and tenants, we are fighting to take our city back from real estate greed. Organized tenants are the only counter-weight to organized real estate.
